The main areas in Dubai are Old Dubai, Downtown Dubai, Dubai Marina and Jumeirah. Old Dubai is the city's historic heart and includes Dubai Creek, Deira, Bur Dubai and Al Fahidi Districts. Deira (home to the souqs) is on the northern side of Dubai Creek, while Bur Dubai lies on the southern side. Abras (traditional wooden ferries) are available for crossing the creek. Downtown Dubai is the most iconic area, home to Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa and Dubai Fountain, while Dubai Marina and JBR are the best areas to go for a waterfront stroll and sizzling nightlife.
